Grandeur It’s been two months since the release of Grandeur’s first album, “To Make a Long Story Short,” but band co-founder Dylan White says his band still doesn’t quite fit in to the local music scene. But that’s not a bad thing. “We’ve played plenty of shows since the album came out, but we always seem to stick out. There’s no one else in the area who is really playing the type of music we’re playing,” said White, 19, of Somerset. Grandeur’s sound, he said, draws from influences ranging from the Beatles and Neil Young to Incubus. “It’s modern and it’s poppy. I guess it’s poppy folk rock,” White said. “It’s just hard, fast-paced, folky rock.” The band formed last summer, when White and his older brother, guitarist Adam White, teamed with Johnstown bass player Dustin Michaels and UPJ student Wes Cramer on drums. “We’ve been getting a lot of online response, which is great,” said White, adding that the band’s friend list on myspace already has grown from 500 to 5,000. The band has played several shows in Johnstown, as well as performances in Bedford and Pittsburgh.
